How is TDS Calculated ?
There will be a TDS deduction of 30% if your winning amount is more than ₹10,000.
TDS is applicable on Total Winning Amount−Entry Fee
Example Scenario 1
If you’re playing with ₹4,000 at a 6-player pool table
Total winnings = ₹21,600
In case of a split between 2 players, then winnings = ₹10,800/person. Winnings after deducting entry fee = ₹10,800−₹4,000 = ₹6,400
No TDS applicable here since winning amount is less than ₹10,000.
Example Scenario 2
If you’re playing with ₹4,000/- at a 6-player pool table
Total winnings = ₹21,600
Winnings after deducting entry fee = ₹21,600−₹4,000 = ₹17,600
TDS (30%) on ₹17,600 = ₹5,280
Net winnings you get = ₹16,320
